Overly Sensitive But Decent Device

"I've used a number of other well-known brands of these non-contact detectors in the solar field for a while, but finally decided to get my own for my tool bag. I found the workmanship is similar to all others and does what it is supposed to. But it is overly sensitive when it comes to outlets and hot circuits. You can be standing approx 2' away from a live outlet (or line) and it still beeps and lights up. While I understand this can be a safety and liability feature for the device, it doesn't need to be that sensitive. But for the money, what do you really expect? It works, and does what it's supposed to: prevent frying yourself. "
