Community Involvement

Greenlee supports the following organizations...

American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is an event that Greenlee participates in each year.  This wonderful cause unites communities to commemorate those who have battled breast cancer, informs people how they can reduce their risk, and empowers neighborhoods to join the fight against the disease. Over the years Greenlee has raised thousands of dollars and has had over dozens of employees participate in the 4 mile walk.  Our contributions helped fund the search for breast cancer causes, cures, and treatments; as well as provided free resources and support for breast cancer patients and caregivers. Our next walk is in October and we encourage everyone to participate in this great event and show that we are beating cancer!

Rock River Valley Blood Center

Rock River Valley Blood Center and Greenlee partner together to run the annual blood drive at Greenlee during the month of July. Greenlee employees are encouraged to donate blood, as well as we encourage everyone to too! You never know, it could help save a life.

Special Olympics of Illinois

Greenlee took part in the 2018 Rockford Polar Plunge this past March to raise funds for the Special Olympics of Illinois. Folks from the Research Parkway plant and Textron Tools & Test Young Professionals (T3YP) braved through the 30°F water at Olson Lake in Rock Cut State Park. The group collectively raised $3,206.51, part of the whopping total of $82,688.97 from 520 participants at the Rockford Plunge. Kudos to all of the Polar Bear Plungers nationwide!

The Greenlee Summer 2017 interns volunteered at Sharefest, an annual Rockford community service event. Our interns assisted on painting and clearing out dead trees. This was an effort to help clean up our local Rockford community and allow fields to be used for recreational purposes.

Young Professionals is a group of employees that strive to better themselves professionally and personally. They host events to teach others about different professions as well as regularly volunteer. Some examples of organizations or events they have volunteered for are Habitat for Humanity, Northern illinois Food Pantry, Keep Northern illinois Beautiful and Rock Valley College.
